In the Gallery: A Photography Exhibit by Mari Phelan

Sometimes it is the simplest things in life that bring us the most joy.

Mari Phelan, a native of Fairmont, and the daughter of Don and Bernie Graville who owned Erickson Furniture back in the 60`s, 70`s and 80`s, and briefly the Rummage House which was housed right here at the Red Rock prior to its restoration. Mari now resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but enjoys coming back to her hometown. With a background in graphics, photography, art, sales, design work, health and wellness, and a degree in technical illustration and commercial design, Mari has been able to enjoy many different pathways in life.

Inspired by fresh air and a walk in the woods she finds her physical, spiritual, and emotional connection to the world around us. There is always a connection with what we see, but we don`t always see what is there, and that is what this exhibit is all about. She has learned there is much more to see if one just takes a moment to notice. To quote her mother-in-law...you just have to look.

SESSION I - Parent Meeting - The participating child and one guardian are required to attend the parent meeting.
These programs are instructed by Fairmont Hockey coaches and players. Learn to Skate provides a fun way for boys and girls of all ages to learn the fundamentals of ice skating. - - Learn to Play Hockey is a great way for boys and girls of 3-12 to start and develop their hockey playing skills. It is really important for Learn to Play Hockey that participants have basic skating skills. *** If your child has never skated or skated few times, we recommend signing up for Learn to Skate. Once they are on the ice, they show confidence and are comfortable, we can switch them to Learn to Play Hockey if the parent prefers. Register through Fairmont CER by October 14. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON CLASS AND FEES CONTACT: Fairmont CER (235-3141) or visit the webstore at: https://fairmont.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=community_ed

Center Creek Orchard will open for the season Saturday, September 5th!
Then we will be open all weekends in September & October
Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10 - 6pm
We start the year with changes related to the corona virus:
We will follow all current state guidelines, the good news is outdoor activities are encouraged!
We will be open on Friday each weekend adding an extra day to allow for smaller crowds.
We will not have you enter the Apple Barn but will serve you outside.
Sanitizers stations will be available throughout the orchard.
There will not be a Jump Pad or bouncers but we have over 20 other fun activities.
Our goal remains the same-hours of fall fun & entertainment while offering local, fresh apples & pumpkins!
New for 2020:
We will have a giant pumpkin contest the weekend of Sept 25, 26 & 27th. Even if you did not grow a giant pumpkin plan on coming to see those that did! Prizes of $200, $100 & $50 will be given on Sunday evening at 5pm.
We have a new climbing hill that the kids will love!
