SRTS provides 4 safe routes for children to get active by walking and biking to school one day a week during the fall and spring. Children who attend public and parochial elementary schools in Fairmont benefit by exercising with peers in a safe, chaperoned environment. Walkers and bikers are brought to heir respective schools by crosswalk guards and adult volunteers along safe routes. The chaperoned routes will begin at the following locations: Route 1 Corner of Day Street & South Orient (7:45am), Route 2 Begins at the Fairmont Aquatic Park (7:30am), Route 3 Begins at St Paul Lutheran School Playground (7:40am) & Route 4 Begins at Grace Lutheran Church (7:30am). The beginning locations of each route are also designated SRTS Safe Zones.
