SESSION 2 - These programs are instructed by Fairmont Hockey coaches and players. Learn to Skate provides a fun way for boys and girls of all ages to learn the fundamentals of ice skating. - - Learn to Play Hockey is a great way for boys and girls of 3-12 to start and develop their hockey playing skills. It is really important for Learn to Play Hockey that participants have basic skating skills. *** If your child has never skated or skated few times, we recommend signing up for Learn to Skate. Free! Learn to speak English as a second language, conversation, reading, writing, and understanding the American culture. These classes are very informal. Adult learners develop personal learning goals with the instructor. Students are not required to stay for entire scheduled time but may come and go as desired. Classes will follow the District Calendar and not be held on non-school days.

Fairmont Lakes Foundation Inc. is holding their Annual Ice Fishing Tournament on January 31, 2026. This event will be limited to the first 150 registered anglers. Everyone will have to check-in in the morning of the tournament at the shelter house at Gomsrud Park, between the hours of 7am and 8:45am. We will be launching from the shelter house at Gomsrud Park at 9am SHARP! In the event of a major blizzard, we have set a backup date for February 7, 2026. There will be no refunds so please be prepared for the conditions that day.

Best of all, there are no written or behind the wheel tests! Certificate will be provided at the end of class.
**8-hour initial class requirement has been removed as of July 1st, 2024. Participants must take 4-hour course to initially earn the discount and then repeat the 4-hour class every three years to maintain the discount. Cost is $24 per participant. This class is more than just learning a new technique; it helps develop self-expression and confidence, while fostering a lifelong appreciation for art.  


Cardboard Chompsaw Animals: Young artists will jump into a building adventure as they create their own cardboard animals using the new art room Chompsaws. They'll learn how to cut and shape cardboard safely, piece their creatures together, and add a bit of paint for color and personality. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. REGISTRATION CLOSES January 27.
