Applying for scholarships this year? Attend this hands-on session to discover how Fairmont Dollars for Scholars evaluates its applications and receive help in starting your Dollars for Scholars application! This workshop will help you navigate the application process so you receive the most points possible for your aspirations, activities and academics. If you have not yet created a partial student profile on fairmont.dollarsforscholars.org before this event, make sure you have the needed information to access an email account during the class (such as an email web address and password) as you will need to verify your new student profile before working on it. This class is for Fairmont Area High School juniors, seniors or graduates who plan on completing a Fairmont Dollars for Scholars application. Please pre-register with CER (235-3141) to ensure class is held.

Play Cafe - Tuesdays at 10 am: January 6-April 28 at the Fairmont Library Join us upstairs at the library for a rotating mix of play-based activities designed to help little ones (birth-5) learn, explore, and grow.

Afterschool Art Classes with Ashley Jensen - For grades 3 and up Join Ashley for her afterschool art program where young artists can unleash their creativity, explore different mediums, and connect with like-minded peers. This class is more than just learning a new technique; it helps develop self-expression and confidence, while fostering a lifelong appreciation for art.

Carved Eraser Stamps: In this hands-on class, young artists will design and carve their own custom pink eraser. We'll learn how to create a tiny design, safely carve the eraser, and then use ink to make prints on paper. This class is perfect for young artists who enjoy drawing, designing, and exploring new creative techniques. Baton Twirling Level 3 (Fireflies) - This course is for those who have completed Levels 1 & 2 baton twirling and are ready to learn routines and move on to more challenging skills. Instructional Fee: $24. Batons will be provided for use if you do not have your own. For an additional fee of $37, participants are able to purchase a baton to take home for practice. Girls Swish Squad - Girls Basketball for grades 2-4 is designed to introduce young athletes to the exciting world of basketball while focusing on skill development and teamwork. This class is perfect for beginners, helping players build confidence and learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun, supportive environment. The first half of each class will focus on teaching and developing essential basketball skills. The second half of the class will be dedicated to applying the skills learned in a fun, low-pressure game setting. Players will be divided into teams and participate in scrimmages allowing for lots of touches on the ball and opportunities to practice offense and defense. Instructors will guide the game, offering feedback and reinforcing the importance of teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship. Instructors: Heather Nelson. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. New families are invited to Getting to Know You Night at Martin Luther Jr./Sr. High School on Thursday, March 5, at 6:00 p.m. Students and parents of the Class of 2029 will host a light supper. Visit classrooms, meet MLHS families and staff, and enjoy time to mix and mingle. Newly enrolled students are invited to a special “Photo Op with Your MLHS Team.” Your family is invited to partner with MLHS as we work together for your child’s success.

Boys Fastbreak Basketball-For Grades 2 & 3 - In this session, the primary goal is to help young players build a solid foundation of basketball skills that they can carry forward as they grow in the sport. Players will develop essential skills and build confidence on the court through a variety of drills and mini scrimmages.  Whether your child is new to the game or looking to refine their skills, this session offers a supportive and exciting atmosphere to help them grow as players.
